Centre for International and European Labour Law Studies (CIELLS) invites you to the movie-debate night on 27 September 2022, 7:00 PM in room 1.2 at Collegium Iuridicum II (Lipowa 4).
The movie we will watch is Animal Farm by George Orwell. Originally it is a political fable based on the events of Russia’s Bolshevik revolution and the betrayal of the cause by Joseph Stalin. We will watch it in the context of labour rights, such as workers' voice, autonomy and employee surveillance.
The debate will be chaired by prof. dr. David Mangan who is a Canadian-trained lawyer (Osgoode Hall Law School), based in Ireland at Maynooth University, and at present Global Professor at KU Leuven. Prof. Mangan is an expert in employee surveillance, right to privacy at the workplace, and autonomy in employment relationships.
Although the debate will be focused on labour law and human rights issues, all years and types of students and PhD candidates are welcomed. Participation is free of costs, but we cordially ask you to register per email to ciells@wpia.uw.edu.pl
